Starting Monday, certain fast food workers in California will be paid at least $20 an hour under a new law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

It must be a part of a chain of at least 60 establishments nationwide, and must be primarily engaged in selling food and drinks for immediate consumption. However, restaurants in grocery establishments are exempt, as well as restaurants that have a bakery that both produce and sell bread on site, and restaurants connect to airports, hotels, theme parks and more."I’m totally against it," said Carlos Ortiz. “I’ll continue eating out, but I’ll be more cautious when I eat out, watching prices, etcetera.
