The $200 million in property damage from this month’s earthquakes in California doesn’t include damage to infrastructure, like roads
Ethan MillmanA pair of earthquakes that shook California earlier this month caused about $200 million in property damage, according to a new report.
Residents of the small towns of Argus and Trona, located in San Bernardino County between the Sierra Nevadas and Death Valley National Park, suffered the most significant damage, according to catastrophe modeling firm Karen Clark and Co. Homes and buildings in those towns are generally older than those in the nearby larger city of Ridgecrest and weren’t built to sustain shaking as well.
