Calgary Stampeders trio put in the off-season work while living in Arizona CFL
In his first year with the Stampeders last season, Mills opened a lot of eyes. He had three 100-yard games, earned CFL top-performer-of-the-week honours twice and carried the ball 67 times for 459 yards.
So Mills certainly wasn’t turning down any opportunities to work out with a guy like Dennis, who has been around the CFL for a long time. For Dennis, meanwhile, the workouts were part of a months-long program designed to get him all the way back to game shape after a broken leg ended his 2022 season. He had been playing at an all-star level prior to the injury and while it took some time for him to be able to do everything he needed to do to be ready for 2023, he’s happy with what he was able to accomplish in the off-season.
