Created in the early 1980s and managed by the City of Calgary, this 237-acre natural area extends over the delta formed at the mouth of the Elbow River and features an extensive network of hiking trails that wind through coniferous and deciduous forests. A true wilderness experience, despite its location within the city limits, the Weaselhead is also home to a vast array of wildlife and birds.In addition to the expected wildlife sightings, Weaselhead Flats is also known for black bear sightings.
