ICYMI: Calgary Herald building sold, signalling the end of an era yyc

The move was part of a media consolidation in a steadily contracting newspaper world buffeted by digital realities. After the Herald moved its 800 employees into the hilltop landmark located on a rail line in late 1981, Frank G. Swanson, the publisher at the time, said the new building was host to “the newspaper of the future.”
