BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA – SEPTEMBER 10: California Golden Bears’ Jaydn Ott goes up in the air to score a touchdown against UNLV Rebels’ Jordyn Morgan in the first half of their football game at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. BERKELEY — Cal running back Jaydn Ott, injured over the weekend against Auburn, is expected to be ready to play Saturday when the Bears welcome Idaho to Memorial Stadium, coach Justin Wilcox said.
Ott, who leads the Pac-12 Conference with 266 rushing yards through two games, was injured in the third quarter when he went airborne trying to leap over linebacker Eugene Asante. Idaho comes to town with a 2-0 record and a No. 5 FCS national rankings. The Vandals dominated FBS foe Nevada 33-6 at Reno on Saturday.
“We don’t coach them to leave their feet like that,” Wilcox said. “Once in a while guys will make a play jumping over somebody. It kind of gets ‘oohs and aahs’ but we don’t coach that technique.
