Caitlin Clark spoke with members of the media on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, two days after she was drafted by the Indiana Fever with the top pick.
INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark has officially been introduced as theOn Wednesday, the Fever held a press conference at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to introduce Clark alongside General Manager Lin Dunn and head coach Christie Sides. "Like I said after I got drafted, I can't think of a better place for myself to start my career — a place that loves basketball, supports women's basketball and an organization that does things the right way," Clark said.
Clark's enthusiasm for her big move to Indiana was on display as she alluded to the Fever having the first overall pick part of her decision to enter the draft. "It definitely played a huge role," Clark said."I was hoping that Indiana got the first pick... so when I saw that, I was pretty excited.""I was ready for a new challenge and something new in my life," Clark said."It's only five, seven hours from where I grew up, you really can't script it any better."Caitlin Clark smiles during a press conference introducing her as the newest member of the Indiana Fever, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in Indianapolis.
