The millions of citizens who are yearning for the South African state and economy to be freed from decades of ANC plunder and mismanagement may one day look back on January 12 2023 as an important date. It was on this day that the national energy regulator, Nersa, announced an 18.65% increase in the cost of electricity for 2023 and a further 12.74% increase for 2024.
