Cadbury's has confirmed that a much-loved Christmas treat has been discontinued, and fans are fuming as they say 'Christmas is getting ruined and it's only September'
Chocoholics have slammed Cadbury for 'ruining Christmas ' following the confirmation that a much-loved festive product has been axed. Devotees of the sweet treat have been futilely rifling through the aisles, hunting for the seasonal snack they usually look forward to. Their unsuccessful hunts prompted queries on social media about the whereabouts of their beloved treats.
A vexed customer vented on Twitter: "@CadburyUK what's going on with the festive friends this year I can't find them anywhere? Christmas is getting ruined and it's only September..... fuming. P.s don't try telling me the festive animals are "the same"...... ". Elsewhere, a second shopper sought clarity: "@CadburyUK hello have you discontinued festive friends? "Only to be met with the disappointing response from Cadbury: "Hi there.
A biscuit lover was not pleased, telling the Mirror: "I've had festive friends since I was a child. Getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa. Animal biscuits are a darker biscuit compared to festive friends, they are also a lot smaller biscuit. They were the best item of the festive range, why did you pick these over others? ", reports Edinburgh Live. The cherished 80s chocolate bar, Marathon, is making a comeback in the UK after a 34-year hiatus.
Mars' senior brand manager Steve Waters shared his enthusiasm: "We're excited to bring back the Marathon bar branding for a limited period," he said. "It's a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars making chocolate in the UK. We hope fans of Snickers, who remember when it was called Marathon, will enjoy picking it up in store."
