Angel Cabrera is the cigarette smoking two-time major winner who beat Tiger Woods to 2007 US Open, but now currently in prisonAngel Cabrera always cut a distinctive figure on the golf course, but will be a notable absentee from the 2022 US Open.
He caught the eye of a local property magnate, who bought Cabrera his first set of clubs when he was 16. The best moment of his career was yet to come, though, as he won the 2007 US Open by one shot, ahead ofWhen speaking about his victory, Cabrera said: “Well, there are some players that have psychologists, some have sportologists, I smoke.”
Augusta was the place where Cabrera enjoyed much of his major success, finishing seventh in 2011, before then losing a play-off to Adam Scott in 2013.The last career win for him came in 2014 at the Greenbrier Classic and his performances steadily declined.
