The much-rumoured mid-summer cabinet shuffle has reportedly been in the works for weeks, and is all but certain to happen before the upcoming Aug. 1 long weekend, although there’s a good chance that he and his team could be waiting to see the full scale of the damage caused by those record-breaking rainstorms and flooding in Nova Scotia before setting the date.

So far, the consensus across Official Ottawa seems to be that it will be a more substantial overhaul than the last two go-rounds — only five ministers were involved in his Jan. 21 rejigging, which was sparked by the departure of then-innovation minister
