received a Singapore Civil Defence Force Community First Responder Award on Sunday .The award was presented by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu who recounted what Mr Sin did."He saw a car accident, a motorist lying unconscious. He made a turn. He had some emergency , two sets in his car. He jumped into action and helped the injured."

The Stomper was also commended by the SCDF Volunteer and Community Partnership Department director, Colonel Wesley Lim, who said:"SCDF would like to thank all members of the public who had signed up as Community First Responders and stepped forward to help others in distress during emergencies. "Mr Sin York Tan is a good example of an AED-on-Wheels responder who had assisted injured victims in several road traffic accidents."Col Lim continued:"Mr Sin called 995 and promptly rendered first aid to the road traffic accident victim before the ambulance arrived."

"Public-spirited acts like this help to make our community a safer place for everyone. We hope that more people would emulate Mr Sin’s exemplary act and join us as Community First Responders to be trained in basic first-aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and basic firefighting skills in our mission of saving lives."

Asked how he felt about getting the award, Mr Sin told Stomp:"I hope everyone can be doing the same. Saving people is the most important thing to do."
