ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board has licensed a significant oil discovery to Equinor Canada Ltd. off the coast of Newfoundland. The offshore oil regulator announced Friday that the Cappahayden K-67 discovery has an estimated 385 million barrels of recoverable oil.
The area of the discovery is about 18,000 hectares, sitting some 500 kilometres from St. John's near the Bay du Nord discovery.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
