Water main repairs in a busy area of downtown Toronto will take at least two weeks, and will force detours for drivers and streetcar riders alike.
City crews responded to the incident on King Street West and University Avenue Saturday afternoon, shortly after 3 p.m. for reports of flooding in the intersection.
The project is expected to “last upwards of two weeks,” but the city said the closure could be extended by a week if TTC tracks need to be replaced. King Street West will remain closed between York and Simcoe streets, and University Avenue will be closed from Adelaide Street West to Wellington Street West.
