Reports from the scene are that the blaze broke out in the kitchen.
It's understood that -- a contractor repairing the roof in the morning -- was busy with a welding project too close to a leak.uMhlathuze's Bongani Gina says the contractors assured them that the damages to the municipal building will be covered by their insurer.“We don't know up to how much the damage would be but the company on site, a construction company will be taking care of that. Normally it will be coming from the council and the City of uMhlatuze to fix the damage.
