Burberry Econyl Capsule Collection
Burberry has launched a new capsule collection for women and men made with Econyl, which is a sustainable nylon yarn derived from recycled fishing nets, industrial plastic, and fabric scraps.and four pieces for men, all focused on outerwear. The women's collection features trench coats, longline jackets and parkas, plus a chic, yet practical, logo-print backpack, with pieces ranging from $990 to $1,690.
Burberry's move towards sustainable fabric sourcing joins the ranks of Stella McCartney, Prada, and H&M, which are also championing the revolutionary fabric. Econyl is the name of the fabric, which is made by Aquafil . The company is tackling fashion's pollution problem head on by collecting postconsumer materials from our oceans and landfills, then regenerating this waste into one of the sturdiest and most versatile fabrics on the market.
