Bulls of the WeekTiger Woods had one of the most bullish days of his roller-coaster career last Sunday at Augusta, Ga. He not only won his 15th major, fifth Masters and first major tournament in 11 years, he authored what could go down as one of the greatest comeback wins in golf history.
Despite a weather-forced early start for the final round that saw Woods and the leaders tee off six hours earlier than scheduled — and when many on the West Coast of Canada and the U.S. were still asleep — the spectacle drove an average live audience of 10.8 million on CBS Sports south of the border. That was low for CBS Sports as the longtime Masters rights holder but the average live audience only told part of the story.
Among the winners who came along for the ride: CBS and TSN, exclusive Masters sponsors Mercedes-Benz, AT&T and IBM , the PGA Tour and the remaining three majors in this realigned 2019 schedule.
