THUNDER BAY — The city's economy will get a significant boost from the construction of the new Thunder Bay Correctional Complex.Construction at the Highway 61 site is expected to begin by late summer or early fall.
He noted that the project will have a positive economic impact on the local economy, with spin-off benefits going to numerous subcontractors, hotels and restaurants. Charla Robinson, president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, said Wednesday that "clearly that level of infrastructure spending and job creation will have a significant positive impact for local workers and service and supply companies."
