The St. Catharine’s, Ontario product spent parts of seven seasons with the Red Wings, scoring the team’s last goal at Joe Louis Arena in 2017. Sheahan subsequently spent time with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, and Edmonton Oilers before joining the Sabres for the first time in 2020. In 635 career NHL regular-season games with Detroit, Pittsburgh, Florida, Edmonton, Buffalo, and Seattle, Sheahan has scored 74 goals and 194 points. He’s added three goals and seven points in 33 career playoff contests.
The Sabres finished fifth in the Atlantic Division last season with a 32–39–11 record. Sheahan will likely fight with the likes of Anders Bjork, Vinnie Hinostroza, Rasmus Asplund, Casey Mittelstadt, and Zemgus Girgensons for playing time in the Sabres’ bottom six.
