“Members of Parliament have the power to not only reject the budget, but to amend it. It is time for opposition parties to unite and amend the proposed budget for the first time in our democracy. Parliamentarians Have The Power To Reject A VAT Increase And Develop A Jobs And Growth Budget!” The EFF continued.
Congress of South African Trade Unions general secretary Solly Phetoe joined the protest and commented that the union expects a budget that supports poor South Africans.
