Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has reacted to the team securing their first medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in 24 years. The South Africans bagged the bronze medal at the tournament after defeating Democratic Republic of Congo on penalties.The Belgian tactician had nothing but praise for the players after securing the national side's first bronze medal since the 2000 tournament.
“I said after Nigeria match that I was proud of this team, and I think today people can see why I say I am proud of this team. We were not fresh but when you see the mentality in that group, it is impressive,” said the delighted coach."They tried to do what I asked, and I understand that it was difficult. It shows that we if we have problems, we can count on those who are on the bench.They were encouraging them and pushing them.
