Hugo Broos has explained why Percy Tau was not in his final 23-man Bafana Bafana squad ahead of Afcon qualifiers.
The 72-year-old named his 23-man squad to play Uganda and South Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Tau has had a tough season with Al Ahly and also struggled to find his form in the national team.“Percy Tau…It was not an easy decision for me to not select him but there were two things I took into account.
“Secondly, his situation at Al Ahly at the moment is not clear. There are rumours that he is going to leave, and that there is a problem with the transfer fee, since the beginning of August, he only played 17 minutes. The situation is not great and I was a bit afraid with all that…Percy at the moment is not ready.”
