Per Denver7, Gregory had wanted a change of scenery from the now 1-3 Broncos, and he’s getting what he wanted.that the Broncos will pay Gregory about $10 million for the rest of the 2023 season, whereas the 49ers will only pay Gregory a veteran minimum salary.Gregory maintains all three years left on his contract, though none of it is guaranteed following the season, making this a low-risk deal for the 49ers.
Gregory was initially drafted No. 60 overall in 2015 out of Nebraska by the Dallas Cowboys, where he played the first six seasons of his career. The 6-foot-5 hybrid defender, who has been listed as both a defensive end and an outside linebacker, has piled up 19.5 career sacks and 10 forced fumbles across 60 games, in a career impacted by injuries.This season with the Broncos, Gregory has recorded one sack, one of just three he’s had since leaving Dallas.
