A snap of a seat switch on a train has gone viral after people realised what it actually does - and it is safe to say they were pretty shocked by what they discovered
Frequent train travellers are often convinced they know all the ins and outs of rail travel, but it appears there's always something new to discover as a recent revelation about a mysterious switch on trains has left passengers baffled.
The image, posted by a curious social media user, sparked a flurry of speculation. The caption read: "Does anyone know what this switch is for?" This was corroborated by another who observed: "Reading lights. In all but one of the trains that I have been on, the bulbs have been blown. Look above you in the air-con vents and you will see the sockets." Yet another added: "Tbf if I were GWR taking reading lights out I would probably not bother removing a discrete switch."
