LONDON - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met Blackstone chief executive Stephen Schwarzman on Thursday, receiving one of Wall Street’s most prominent figures at his Downing Street office ahead ofA Reuters reporter saw Mr Schwarzman enter Downing Street, the site of the Prime Minister’s official residence, accompanied by a colleague who said they were there to meet Mr Sunak.
But Britain faces other crises, from widespread strikes, high inflation, slow growth and a health system under strain. A co-founder of the world’s biggest private equity firm, Mr Schwarzman has been one of Wall Street’s biggest donors to Mr Donald Trump’s election campaigns, although he has said he will not back the former US president in 2024.
