Customers of all major energy suppliers can get the money including OVO and Scottish Power too
Customers of every major energy company including British Gas , EDF , EOn and OVO as well as Octopus and Scottish Power are being informed how they can get paid £30 if their supplier breaks a new rule introduced this month.
As you probably know, energy customers are free to switch to a new electricity or gas supplier at any time, and your new supplier is in charge of switching you from your old supplier.Of course, some fixed tariffs include a clause with an 'exit fee', which can be as much as £35 per fuel in some cases, but these do not apply to standard variable tariffs, ie anyone not on a fix.
