HMS Spey is one of two offshore patrol vessels of the Royal Navy deployed to the Indo-Pacific region since 2021.

The Argus is a versatile vessel that can serve as a hospital ship with beds for up to 90 patients and has an operating theatre and an intensive care unit. According to the BDSSU’s commanding officer, Commander Edwin Cooper, the depot was built in 1938 as part of the British Naval Base.
