Absolutely horrific
A British woman has allegedly been gang-raped by a group of around eight men while on holiday on a Greek island.
The 31-year-old said she met the men, who are aged between 30 and 35, on a night out with her friends in Faliraki, Rhodes in the early hours of September 4. The men, from Belgium, allegedly invited them back to the hotel they were staying at where the woman had consensual sex with one of them, according to local media Dimokratiki.
After her friends left, the woman said she was attacked and gang-raped by the group. She told police she fled and took a taxi back to her own hotel before reporting the attack at 7am the next morning, the Mirror reports.Local police have launched an investigation and four Belgian nationals have been arrested. The woman has identified all of them as her alleged rapists.
DNA samples have been taken from the suspects while officers continue their search for others said to be involved in the attack. Greek media reports that the four men "did not accept the charge against them".
