During their fan event Tudum, Netlix shares first-look images of the Bridgerton season 3 couple Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
New Bridgerton images offer a first look at the romantic pairing at the center of season 3. The series, which premiered on Netflix in 2020, is set in the Regency era and follows the love life of a new sibling from the sprawling Bridgerton family each season. Season 1 followed Daphne's courtship with the rakish Simon Basset while season 2 saw Anthony Bridgerton caught in a torrid love triangle with sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma .

This season's new central couple is finally taking center stage after both characters were introduced in season 1. Check out the images below:
Penelope and Colin's Romance is More Complicated Than It Seems At first blush, it seems that Colin and Penelope's romance might not have as many roadblocks as the core couples in the previous seasons. The characters have already developed a strong bond of friendship with one another, after all. There is the matter that Colin is the brother of Penelope's best friend Eloise Bridgerton , but that's not necessarily going to be a huge impediment to the pair getting together.
On paper, the path to romance looks clear. However, both Penelope and Colin have hidden secrets that will threaten to derail their love. For instance, Penelope is still sitting on the bombshell that she is the gossip columnist Lady Whistledown , who has written extensively about the affairs of the Bridgerton family.
Colin already has a strained relationship to being featured Lady Whistledown's column. However, finding out that his potential partner is a gossipmonger might pale in comparison to the fact that she has violated his family's privacy, reporting on their romantic entanglements from the inside. When his own secrets come to light and make Penelope doubt her attachment to him as well, Bridgerton season 3 will prove it has the ability to provide just as much drama as ever.
