A week after being approved as the new football coach and athletic director at Greenville High, Brian Seymore has resigned that position.

Seymore spent the last six years as head coach at Demopolis High. He was hired at Greenville to replace Patrick Browning, who left to take a college job at Alabama State.“After much thought, consideration and due to personal reasons, I will walk away from the opportunity to be the next head football coach and athletic director at Greenville High School. I want to thank the Butler County Board of Education, Superintendent Mr. Joe Eiland and principal Mr.
Seymore told AL.com he has not resigned as football coach and athletic director at Demopolis and, with the exception of going to Greenville for one day, he has not missed a day of work there.In 17 years as a head coach, Seymore has won 125 games and lost 66. Prior to coming to Demopolis, he spent two years at Pike Liberal Arts , seven years at Andalusia and two years at Mary G. Montgomery .
At Demopolis, he went 56-18, reached the playoffs each year and made a run to the Class 5A semifinals in 2017 and the quarterfinals in 2018.
