Brexit brings record number of businesses to Netherlands in 2019

Last year, 78 businesses chose to open offices or move operations to the Benelux country, taking the total number since the British referendum in 2016 to 140, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency said. Britain left the European Union in January. It is now in a transition period until the end of 2020 during which it must work out a new trade agreement with the remaining 27 members of the bloc.

The NFIA said it is currently talking to 425 companies about a move or expansion in the Netherlands, up from 175 in 2018.
