Tshwane mayor Stevens Mokgalapa and the member of mayoral committee Sheila Senkubuge will be placed on special leave tomorrow.
A memorandum by provincial chairperson Mike Moriaty sent to DA structures today that SowetanLIVE has seen said that Mokgalapa would step aside. “Mayor Mokgalapa will be placed on special leave while these investigations are underway,” read Moriaty’s memorandum. The Sowetan today reported that Mokgalapa’s future as the mayor of Tshwane hangs in the balance over an audio clip of him and Senkubuge after an audio clip of them discussing plans to fire government officials.
