We *finally* have an update from John Boyega on an Attack the Block sequel.
In 2021, it was announced that we would be getting our hands on a very eagerly-anticipated sequel to, more than a decade after filmmaker Joe Cornish first introduced us to the south London gang going above and beyond to protect their block from an alien invasion., talk briefly turned to when we could possibly lay our eyes on the follow-up.
The movie, which is based on true events from 2017, saw his character hold up a bank and take two tellers – played by Nicole Beharie and Selenis Leyva – hostage, pleading for help. ‘Brian is interesting enough anyway for it to be a meaty role as an actor, because he goes into so many different types of emotions through this movie.’
‘That’s what was reported back,’ he said of adding humor to those scenes. ‘The bank tellers reported that he wasn’t as bad as they thought he was going to be. He actually treated them with a level of respect.‘Obviously, despite that circumstance being very, very scary and something that nobody should agree with, there was more nuance to it than he was harmful towards them. We wanted to make sure that we sprinkled those moments in there.
