One man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving
The smash happened at the junction of Peel Street and Stockfield Road in Chadderton at around 6.35pm yesterday . Police said it involved two cars.
The road was reportedly closed off for hours after the crash, with the cars remaining on the scene until around 5am this morning. A cordon was put in place at the busy junction as investigations were carried out. Police are now asking any witnesses of the crash to come forward. They particularly want to speak to anyone who might have CCTV or dashcam footage.
"Colleagues from NWAS took the man to hospital and he is described as being stable following surgery. A man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
