Kaizer Chiefs, formely know as SA “Cup Kings”, have another chance to end their trophy drought with the Carling Knockout Cup.Amakhosi have not tasted silverware in over eight years and are desperate to give their fans something to smile about before the end of the year.The Carling Knockout Cup comes at the right time for Chiefs given how close they were to reaching the MTN8 final.
Chiefs hold the edge in the Carling Knockout Cup, formerly known as the TKO,Rothmans Cup and Coca-Cola Cup. They have won the competition eight times, but their last victory came back in 2010.With the competition returning for the first time since 2019, Amakhosi are underdogs but they might just surprise many should they get favoured draws in the quarters or semis. Kaizer Chiefs are favourites to beat Amazulu having done so in August this season.
