The investigation, which has already led clubs to preemptively suspend at least eight players, alleged that some were paid between $10,000 and $20,000 to receive yellow cards intentionally or commit fouls leading to penalties for their opponents, prosecutors said. The state of Goias also listed 13 allegedly fixed matches, including eight in Brazil’s top tier, with two more still under investigation.
