“At the end of the day, we accomplished our goal,” Broncos senior goalkeeper Ashley Easley said. “We came back from so many games. We fought so hard, and we know leaving here that this game did not define us as a team.” After rallying to beat Brennan in the regional final and Alamo Heights in the third round, the Broncos didn’t have another comeback.
Brazoswood applied huge pressure on the Broncos, and it began paying off in the second period as the Buccaneers outscored Brandeis 6-0 to take a 10-3 halftime lead. Mallory Kelser scored seven goals to lead Brazoswood. Teammates Minnie Tran had four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Gigi Lower had 12 saves.
