We chat with TheHandmaidsTale stars BradleyWhitford & maxminghella about season 5 of the hit Hulu show and what's in store for their Gilead characters:
Commander Lawrence and Nick share an odd working relationship - they both feel loyalty to June, who, in The Handmaid's Tale season 5, is dealing with the fallout of murdering her former commander, Fred Waterford, but they are beholden to Gilead, too. Nick and Lawrence helped June achieve her goal of revenge against her abuser, but now Gilead is left with a dead commander, one who betrayed them on the world stage.
Max Minghella: You just answered the question [laughs]. Yeah, I mean, he's trying on these Gilead shoes more earnestly than we've seen him do so previously. I don't think they fit very well. And I think over the course of the season, he finds himself again. Max, what do you think the future holds for Nick and June? Is there a world where they can maybe reunite in a way and share a moment with Nichole again? Or do you think they're too far gone and on their separate paths to be emotionally capable of that?
