There are currently more than 1,000 vacancies in the sector across Bradford and Craven.

A "much-needed" recruitment drive for adult social care workers has launched in Bradford due a growing list of vacancies in the district.

An estimated additional 3,579 care professionals will be locally needed in the next 10 years to meet demand, Bradford Council said. Peter Hopkinson, managing director of a care provider in Leeds, recently said social care needed to be made a priority by the next government toThe jobs range from providing companionship, supporting care home residents and helping those with a disability, with many advertised roles paying between £11 and £12 an hour.

"It’s important that we recruit people who can empathise with the people we work with, who believe in the strength of community resources and are able to have a positive attitude about enacting change.”
