The donation, made in collaboration with the national nonprofit Prevent Blindness, ensures that the glasses are certified for safe viewing during the eclipse.
On April 4, local leaders, including Ada Saenz, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio, and Nicole Scott, vice president of UnitedHealthcare of Texas, gathered at the Mays Clubhouse to distribute the glasses and provide materials with tips for safe viewing. UnitedHealthcare's donation doesn't stop at San Antonio; the company is contributing a total of 10,000 eclipse glasses to schools across the country, emphasizing the importance of eye safety during celestial events.
