Boys' Brigade leaders will be asked if the organisation in Northern Ireland should become 'a separate autonomous body' due to differences over finance, governance and some 'cultural differences' on faith matters.
The Boys' Brigade in Northern Ireland will meet on Monday to decide whether to split from the organisation in the rest of the UK and Ireland.
According to the agenda, BB leaders will be asked to approve the formation of a new organisation called BBNI. If the resolution is approved on Monday, negotiations will then begin with the BB in the UK and Ireland on the terms of separation with a final vote on that due to take place in 2023. In a policy document ahead of the annual general meeting - which was postponed from 12 September after the death of the Queen - the BB in Northern Ireland outlined a number of reasons why it wanted to separate.
