The community is in a 'state of shock and grief' after the eight-year-old's death, the gurdwara says.

An eight-year-old boy who died after being hit by a lorry in west London was walking to his gurdwara, it has emerged.

It happened in King Street, Southall, at about 18:20 GMT on Friday and the boy later died in hospital. In a post on Instagram, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall said the community was "deeply saddened".The boy was struck metres from the gurdwara in Guru Nunak Road, with several members of the community and children witnessing the event left "understandably traumatised".

"Our thoughts are with the family and everyone impacted by this tragedy as we come together in solidarity and compassion."Detectives appealled for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
