He sustained facial injuries

near South Street area of Newtownards on Friday May 26. At around 5pm, it was reported to police that a 14-year-old male was assaulted by a group of males in the area.Read more: Two women rescued from house fire in North Belfast

Inspector Doherty added: "A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries. "Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the assault, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1679 26/05/23. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
