Jimmy Harvey founded Argo Boxing Club back in 1973 and it has been a beacon of hope for young people, giving them a safe space to train. They are now opening their first premises next weekend.
A community boxing club that was founded by a much-loved Drumchapel grandad half a century ago will finally move into their first ever home next weekend.
Despite this, it has continued training children from as young as eight-years-old up to over 18s. Alongside this, Argo's Boxing Club also offer keep fit classes for men and women. She told GlasgowLive: "It’s been unreal to see that transformation. There’s been a lot of hard work and time spent from all of the coaches and boxers.
"It’s such a big achievement for this club that my papa started 50 years ago. I’m really proud that everyone involved in Argo has kept it going for so long. I hope that more people come down and make use of this facility." "We have previously worked with people with addiction issues and hope to do that more moving forward."
