Italian-American Fiat Chrysler on Monday pitched a finely balanced merger of equals to France’s Renault and said boutique investment bank d’Angelin & Co was advising it alongside the American and Japanese firms. “The presence of d’Angelin & Co alongside Fiat Chrysler is interesting as it could facilitate discussions with the French government, which is Renault’s main shareholder,” said Gregoire Laverne, fund manager at Roche Brune Asset Management.

The Fiat mandate also highlights the steady progress of d’Angelin & Co in mergers and acquisitions league tables.
