The door steward was assaulted outside The Last Post, in County Square, Paisley, shortly after 7pm on Friday.
His attacker was wearing a black camouflage parka, blue jeans and black shoes, while the other customer was dressed in black clothing. A police spokesperson told our sister title The Gazette:"The door steward wasn't injured in the attack and did not need hospital treatment. "However, we do not tolerate assaults of any kind, particularly on people who are only doing their job."
Anyone with information or who saw the incident is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 3295.
