Bosasa paid R1.2m bribe for tender at Kimberley department of education – AngeloAgrizzi StateCaptureInquiry
Bosasa allegedly paid a bribe of R1.2 million to secure a tender to install CCTV and access control systems at the Northern Cape department of education main building in Kimberley, heard the commission of inquiry into state capture on Friday.
The technician employed by Mathenjwa was Bheki Gina, whose sister held a portfolio within the department. He told the commission that though he was “kept out of the loop” about this specific tender due to strained relations between himself and the company’s CEO, Gavin Watson, he came to know about it because he had to sign off on accounts and would at times make inquiries around it.
