The movie follows the classic mockumentary style but focuses on the documentary crew's journey more than the subjects. The documentary crew's goal is to explore the relationship between artificial intelligence and popular music.
Interviews with former crew members Queen Bootytifah, Bootytron 9000, and The Professor, along with famous fans including Brian Austin Green, reveal even more in this hilarious and raunchy parody. The mockumentary is produced by the musical minds of District 78 and inspired by The Booty Boys, a real-life rap act formed by Chris "brownEye" Lightbody and Spencer "sixxxHole" Yaras. Bootyology will hit VOD on August 22.
More About Bootyology Screen Rant's exclusive trailer for Bootyology begins with the classic mockumentary interviews where the subjects talk about the popularity of The Booty Boys. However, the white rap duo mysteriously disappeared, only to be discovered years later frozen but alive in the back of a walk-in freezer. Returning from their hiatus, The Booty Boys are now 40 and seem to have lost a step, hilariously forgetting how to rhyme, an important part of their musical style.
Bootyology is directed by Joe Eddy from a screenplay penned by Eddy, Lightbody, and Yaras. Bootyology stars Andy Kindler, Brian Austin Green, Daniel O'Reilly, Aris Alvarado, Robert J. Steinmiller Jr., Dave Theune, Megan Duffy, and Wanru Tseng. The new mockumentary movie is executive produced by Phillip A. Bond and produced by Robert J. Steinmiller, Lightbody, and Yaras for District 78 Films, along with Ryan Richter and Eddy for Headcase, with music provided by District 78.
