Speaking to about 500 supporters at Mississauga’s Metalworks Institute on Wednesday, Crombie looked past her Liberal rivals and took aim at the Progressive Conservative premier.
Crombie, who was introduced at the slick campaign launch by Liberal MPP Stephanie Bowman , said the Grits “need to return to the big tent party that has been our success” to unseat Ford in 2026. An Abacus Data survey for the Star found Crombie is so far besting her main rivals, Liberal MPs Nate Erskine-Smith and Yasir Naqvi .
The other registered candidate, Liberal MPP Ted Hsu , had a plus 10 per cent — 16 per cent positive, six per cent negative, 34 per cent neutral and 44 per cent unsure.
