Baloyi is tipped to be leaving ActionSA amid a difference of opinion about policy issues.

JOHANNESBURG - The political future of ActionSA’s Gauteng leader, Bongani Baloyi, hangs in the balance after the party confirmed it’s considering changing his role.

This follows reports claiming a spat between Baloyi and party leader Herman Mashaba had caused tensions to flair between the pair. It's understood the rift was caused by what the party claims are irreconcilable differences on the running of the provincial structures, and a difference of opinion about policy issues.Insiders claim this is the first of a series of discussions, but remain tight-lipped about the exact details. The party’s national chairperson, Michael Beaumont, has also asked for space and time to deal with the matter internally.

Baloyi, who left the Democratic Alliance to join ActionSA over a year ago, is set to make an announcement on Monday.
